Mixing the euphoric synthgaze of M83 with the sort of hook-laden electro driven indie pop that recalls The Beloved, Parisian synth pop duo Shawondasee release a glistening retro future pop nugget in the form of ‘Gems Of Pure Light.’ In fact strip everything back to just the song and melody and its got that sort of languid grace and opulent yet doomed pop splendour of Lana Del Rey, just as the anti depressants kick in to banish the darkness. 🙂
