The England football team may well flatter to deceive but Sheffield’s Blessa always deliver as they unveil yet another musical gem.
‘Island Minding‘ is from their debut Ep ‘Love Is An Evol Word.‘ The Sheffield based band who consist of Olivia Neller, Alex Burton, Jake Murray, Andy Piercy, and Rob Piercy once again hit the bulls-eye with their graceful bittersweet dreamy brand of guitar pop. ‘Island Minding’ is full of elegant languorous splendour which stirs the head and heart and demonstrates just why we tipped Blessa to be the band to keep your ears out for in 2014.
Of course there are a finite amount of words to describe music and the effect it has, and having written about Blessa often and enthusiastically during the course of 2014 we do find ourselves drawn to the same descriptive expressions. On reflection perhaps the only three words you need when referencing Blessa are simply – “life affirming beauty.”
