Track Of The Day – Lady Lamb the Beekeeper – Bird Balloons

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper is the musical project of 23 year-old Brooklyn-based Aly Spaltro who releases her début album, Ripely Pine, in April via Ba Da Bing Records.  ‘Bird Balloons‘ – today’s track of the day is really a quite  f**king remarkable tune, a life affirming mix of melody and oddness, which is almost like a classical movement, not terms of sound but in the sense that it takes you through a variety of different morphing musical landscapes. It twists and turns and ebbs and flows yet still retains a wonderful sense of cohesion, and like a grungey Regina Spektor, Aly pulls the listener into her weird and wonderful world for six minutes and sixteen breathtaking seconds. To explore her world a little further check out the video below for ‘- ‘The Nothing Part II’ – featuring a seemingly deranged pie obsessed fencer who kidnaps people to ensnare them in a dark dungeon and force them to devour food via a ghastly ‘pie feeding’ device. Imagine if you will ‘The Great British Bake Off’ meets ‘Saw’  Wink  A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
