Track Of The Day (2) – Slow Club – Tears Of Joy- (free download)

Slow Club (Rebecca Taylor and Charles Watson) return with a new track ‘Tears of Joy’ which is available as a free download from the band’s website.

It’s a slow burning soulful duet, which may act as signpost to denote a change in musical direction. It certainly sounds as if the bands are moving away from their effervescent folk pop to embrace a more mature sophisticated style.  ‘Tears of Joy’ is certainly an uplifting, top quality soul-tinged pop song and whether this is taste of things to come on their forthcoming third album remains to be seen, but the duo have always had a gift for writing exhilarating melodies and on this evidence we see no reason why that will not continue to remain the case.

Tues      13th   May    LONDON, Village Underground
