Track Of The Day – Paperwhite – ‘Magic’

Katie and Ben Marshall are a brother and sister musical duo from Brooklyn who produce dreamy wistful synth pop as ‘Paperwhite.’

Their second single (no not sophomore because that word MEANS NOTHING in the UK !) ‘Magic’ sadly isn’t a tribute to the Anthony Hopkins film of the same name and his creepy ventriloquist dummy chum “Fats” (see here ¬†.. if you dare!) However it is the sort of tune that , during the 1980’s would probably feature a montage, condensing a ninety-minute roller coaster teen romance between Andrew McCarthy and Molly Ringwald into a three minutes and fifty-eight second promo video, leaving you feeling suitably loved up. It’s sophisticated evocative electronic pop full of subtle charm and glittering allure.
