A band who are fans of Iggy Pop, garage rock the Jesus & Mary Chain, reverb and ‘True Detective’?  Well that certainly sound like our cup of tea!  Meet San Francisco based Rich Girls whose sound could be described as darkwave garage Goth.

The band started out as the solo project of singer/songwriter and guitarist Luisa Black who had been living in London, an excellent EP ‘The One I Want’ was released on Tricycle Records in 2013 and now there’s a brand new EP entitled ‘Fiver’ in the pipeline.  Rich Girls now comprise of  Luisa with the addition of August Churchill on guitar and Chris Sipe on drums and the first track to emerge from the aforementioned EP is ‘Worse’ a joyously dark example of noise-pop with vague undercurrents of Joy Division/ early New Order’s enthralling brand of atmospheric doom pop.

For further listening check out the quite wonderful and amazingly cinematic video for ‘Sink Like Stones’ from last year’s EP which tells the tale of a recovering addict with a dark secret who is stalked by a stranger. Find out why below…

The ‘Fiver’ EP is released on 7th October 2014 on Break-Up Records
