Today’s Track of the Day ‘Basketball Land’ comes via Glaswegian and Outer Hebridean trio Le’ T h u g (Michael Raphael Gilfedder, Dann McColgan and Clio Alexandra Maclellan.) It’s mesmerising and majestic, a beguiling mix of gauzy guitar textures, pulsing drones, electronic flourishes, and wonderfully diaphanous celestial vocals. ‘Basketball Land’ genuinely is a shimmering reflective slice of aural loveliness which arrives ahead of their forthcoming EP ‘Place is’ which is being released by our chums at Song By Toad records. If you’re a fan of this tune, you’ll be delighted to hear it’s just one of five rather wonderful tunes on the EP. It’s a hugely impressive release with perhaps the hauntingly beautiful Curve meets Cocteau’s ‘Outer Hebridean’ just pipping the other tracks as our overall favourite.
