Track Of The Day – Freak – Everyone’s The Same

Freak  Everyone’s The Same

One of our tips for  2018 , FREAK kick off the year with a new release and video in the shape of ‘Everyone’s The Same.’ Driven by a relentless guitar riff, it’s a track that revisits some of Freak’s favourite subjects ie. suburban alienation and the pressure to conform. It mixes frustration, anger and ennui in equal measure and is another frenetic slice of post-punk indie.

Freak is the brainchild of Chelmsford vocalist/guitarist Connar Ridd who says of the tune –  “it’s about trying to find your identity is a society in which anyone different is an outcast. You’re judged if you dress differently or if your opinions differ from the masses. The song is about being yourself and not caring, regardless of what everyone else thinks.” And we can certainly relate to that as we’ve been trying to revive the sartorial elegance that is ‘spats’ for years.
