Our computer nearly went into meltdown when we caught sight of Dum Dum Girls latest video. Alan Partridge would probably say “It’s hotter than Debbie Harry in camiknickers feeding a beef vindaloo to Pan’s People in a sauna in Bangkok.” And if we were that sort of blog we’d probably say it’s twice that hot. However we aren’t Perez Hilton or indeed Benny Hill so we’ll stick to the music. It’s the title track (sort of) from Dum Dum Girls fantastic 3rd album ‘Too True’ which we’d previously called a fabulous collection of “majestic, poetic eloquent heroic and inspiring pop songs. ” – Full review Here .
The video perfectly encapsulate the dreamy tone of the song, with psychedelic blow outs, trippy kaleidoscopic colours whilst Dee Dee looks ever inch the heroine in a French art house movie. The video also features plenty of symbolic roses representing perhaps the purity and beauty of love, or perhaps the pain – you gotta watch those thorns !
Dum Dum Girls are about to embark on a huge tour to promote the album, but we note a distinct lack of UK dates….Sort it out Dee Dee the UK needs ya!
