Track Of The Day – Tennis System – Turn

LA trio Tennis System summon up a powerful fusion of shoegaze and grunge-pop vibes on their new emotionally charged single ‘Turn’.  It’s taken from their forthcoming album ‘Lovesick’ ( released on 2/08/2019) via the excellent Graveface Records – Home of The Casket Girls) and is described by vocalist and guitarist Matty Taylor as “a literal turning point for the band in terms of creative output, and general positivity and really kick-started the direction/tone of ‘Lovesick’.”

It’s a fine example of how to blend, passion, noise and melody replete with fuzzed up riffs and a killer chorus imbued with genuine emotion. Matty goes on to describe the composition is about “acknowledging a sense of emptiness when something that once brought you joy brings nothing but pain. It’s literally the turning point, where you realize that what you love is hurting you more than helping you.
