TRACK OF THE DAY(2) – BLACK HONEY – ‘Madonna’

Brighton’s Black Honey aren’t really ones to do your normal run of the mill release. Unleashing a new single via iTunes or Bandcamp seems just a little too obvious Smile !  Their last release, a superb four track EP could only be bought at live shows and reserved via text and now their latest single a double A side via Duly Noted Records featuring new tunes ‘Madonna’ and the surf infused ‘Spinning Wheel’ will be initially available via an EBay auction!  This will also include exclusive Polaroids and means international fans can for the first time, get their hands on a physical copy, whilst UK fans can pre-order the CD ahead of the bands live shows via text on 07578533359.

And our second Track Of The Day, ‘Madonna’ is another example of Black Honey’s burgeoning talent which along with the likes of Wolf Alice is breathing fresh life into guitar music despite the prevalence of fey whimpering electronica invading the blogosphere of late.  We met up with the Brighton four piece again last week to catch their stunning live set at Manchester’s Night And Day Café, (pictures below) and lead singer Izzy has one of the most dynamic stage presences we’ve seen for quite some time.  You could tell by the crowd’s reaction, that this is a band with genuine potential to cross over from the underground to a much wider audience.
