Hatchie : “Lights On.”

Hatchie shares another glittering indie-pop cut from her forthcoming second album Giving The World Away. “Lights On” sees Hatchie expanding her shimmering pop gaze sound replete with a soaring chorus that cements her reputation as a songwriter who can write memorable literate pop songs of huge depth and emotion. Whilst she was determined to expand her sound for her forthcoming album, she still retains all the elements that made her such an interesting songwriter in the first place. And she knows her music – as she elaborates on the track saying “It started with a drumbeat inspired by Siouxsie and the Banshees’ ‘Kiss Them For Me’,  which we had been chatting about the night before when we met up to discuss references for the record. The song is about a tumultuous, secret relationship that is coming to a crossroads.

Giving The World Away’ will be released on April 22nd on Secretly Canadian. Pre-order & pre-sale links here.
