Track Of The Day – Laura Welsh – “Ghosts”


Today we have a free download from a  young, unsigned singer songwriter from Staffordshire.  Apparently she’s previously  performed as Laura and the Tears and “Hey Laura” but now she’s settled on the more formal Laura Welsh , which we think it safe to assume, is her real name.  “Ghosts’ is  the first song she’s given away after putting a video on-line a couple of weeks ago. Her voice is the sort that can stop traffic, big, emotive, beguiling and imbued with real star quality. A kind of contemporary Judy Tzuke meets Marianne Faithful that ‘s fifty percent soulful fifty percent bluesy and one hundred percent beautiful.

Marina and the Diamonds seems impressed as she recently tweeted about her a week so ago last week. You can download the track below.
